Sharpen your grilling skills so the next time you go to a bbq, you can stand behind the person grilling and point out everything they’re doing wrong. People love that. In all seriousness though, an awesome resource for people who like to eat, cook, grill, smoke, baste, bbq, or generally make love to meat.

Had this for the first time the other night. Loved it…of course I haven’t had a beer from Southern Tier that I didn’t love, but still, this really was killer. Super dark, malty and smooth, maybe even a touch sweet, with well hidden alcohol. Hops makes a cameo at the end, though not to the degree I expected. It was a completely new style for me, and one I’ll be on the lookout for now to make comparisons. If the goal of the style is to marry a porter/stout with an IPA, it’s certainly got my attention.

Awesome iPhone app for beer lovers. It’s powered by ratebeer.com, but it’s a hell of a lot slicker than ratebeer’s own free app…which just got deleted. Keep track of what you’ve tasted, your favorites, read/write ratebeer reviews, search beers, share beers on Facebook and Twitter, find local brewpubs, or even use the built-in barcode scanner to get the low down on the beer you’re salivating over at the package store. 4 bucks on the App Store, highly recommended.
